Everyone who lives, works and visits Houston's East End has been inconvenienced (terrorized?) by freight trains, some of us many times daily!  

Super Neighborhood 64 & 88 is meeting to update the community on developments regarding freight train operations and the proposed Union Pacific - Norfolk Southern merger.  There is real news on the merger, and for the first time in months, there is something specific you can do about it. 

During Wednesday's meeting, we will talk about why the trains stop, about quiet zones, and about the merger. We'll cover what the merger filings actually say about our neighborhoods, what the blocked-crossing data shows, where the federal process stands, and what we are asking for. Bring your questions. Bring a neighbor. If you have been meaning to get up to speed on this, this is a great meeting to do it!
